Have been embarked forces on Invincible and Fearless and many an Lsl. Was sick on the Invincible, we were housed under the flight deck in camp beds. The smell of fuel and rough sea made me feel awful. Whilst feeling rough had to galley duty, the pot wash on board was unbelievable. (24 hours behind) Nothing worse than sea sickness. Don't know how you Matelots do it?

On the old Ark...we always tried to position ourselves near soldiers or RAF people at Breakfast....plenty of extra greasy bacon and sausages :-D

Nothing ever stopped me eating. We use to have a Company Sgt Maj, a proper hard man.
When we boarded ship he had to give up command of the company and retired to his
bed, even in dock.

Sorry to hear that mate. Can remember being in the bar on SS Canberra,
(only having two tins, honest) when we heard the news about the Sheffield.
Things went very sombre. We knew we were going in after that.

A friend and I are going to the Falklands in Dec for a re visit. Apparently
15 ex Marines reside there and are awaiting our arrival. Only god knows what
they will have in store for us.
