Thought this article on the WSC website was worth mentioning, not least given our own manager's occasional slightly unfortunate habit of lambasting referees. Personally, I've never quite thought the same way of that fat embezzler Sam Allardyce since reading somewhere that he employs someone at the ground whose job it is to watch video replays of any controversial incidents, purely in order to put more pressure on referees. I would BAN such comments, personally.

The goal Fulham conceded was a disgrace on saturday, i have no idea how the foul or handball wasn't spotted

I think it may be Barnet who have banned their players from running up to and challenging the ref. Apparently bookings are way down.

I believe that any player who runs up to the ref to lambast him should be booked and fined by their club. It would stop overnight and you would end up with better decisions.

And when managers do it.......then what on earth do you expect. And it is insidious.

I was umpiring an U13 cricket match when I had to stop the game to tell the captain to stop sledging (in a very nasty way) one of our players. his reaction? "I thought we were MEANT to!!". This is the kind of attitude to sport that the actions of Fat Sam and his ilk help to propogate.

Which one? The one which should have resulted in a stone wall Fulham penalty or the one where Solano virtually punched the ball into the net while he was on his arse?

Why can't we just ban the post match interview.

They rarely say anything enlighteniung above the usual "the boyd done great" or "the ref was a shocker and cost us three points" .

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME

I'd kind of agree, but then I'd still like to hear the opinion of the manager about a game. I just wish they'd stick to not slagging off the ref, no matter how big a tosser he might have been.

As much as we moan about refs, they probably make fewer mistakes than any individual player in a game - certainly less than any team collectively would make. There are some refs who love the limelight, but then there are also managers who do as well.

All that aside - I can't think of too many redeeming features attached to Sam Allardyce. He is, for me, indicative of so much that is wrong with the game at present.
