What a silly thread.

So concern that we are not ready for the season and questioning why we have released half a team, made good money selling a few players and invested a very small proportion of the incoming money and season's budget is now being interpreted as hoping for a defeat on Saturday.

Rubbish. Name names please of those who are desperate for a defeat if it's not.

With the minimal investment made in the playing side, we NEED a defeat to ram it home to Bloom, Barber and Burke just what a mess we are in.

Ideally it will be one of those where it's 1-1 for a lot of the second half with us pressing before Wednesday  break and get a late winner. The ensuing boos should leave no one in any doubt what a shambles this Summer has been.

I would say most people are hoping we can pick up some much needed points at the start of a league where getting out of the traps quickly is key. I would also say most sensible people also recognise we are light of quality and depth in the squad and want the club to provide our promising new manager the tools to match his ambition

Finally a voice of reason.

Hopefully it'll be 0-0 at halftime, then Ernest and his ARS can start a 'sack the board' march, just like the good old days.

BOOOOOOOOOOO.

I think that BBB know how short we are at the moment, and can't see this changing till end of the window and the premier 25 man squads, agree with the performance but with a sneaky 1 goal win for us. A few lucky points over the next month until we can get some quality in is what's needed.

*edit* Don't you hate it when you think you've been whooshed, but you're not really sure :dunce:

Surely the answer must be NONE. How could a club fan possibly hope we'd loose?

unless of course it was the last leg of an up to now successful accumulator...

I would be upset whenever we win the first game of the season it seems we don't do as well.

2011 beat donny finish midtable
2012 lose to hull finish play offs
2013 lose to leeds finish play offs
1999 beat mansfied finish mid table
2000 lose southend win league
