SS50 for me. "unrestricted" and had by bicycle type pedals! Went on to a CB125 and now (30 years later) have a Yamaha XJ600N which I ride about twice a year!

Never had a 50cc mate, left that to the boys at No.10! I had a 100cc but I'm buggered if I can remember what it was.

I had a Honda MBX50 back in '85. Looked like a 250, and reached a stunning 35 mph!

Moved on more recently to a Vespa 300 GTS. Much more fun

Good thread. When I was a teen I had a Suzuki TS125 which was converted to an off-road scrambler. When I got to 16 I had a Yamaha DT50 and then when I got to 17 I had a Kawazaki AE80. Like you these bikes looked much much bigger than they were.....but only reached 35mph on a good day.

The TS 125 was a great bike.

A little yellow Puch that I bought second-hand in 1976. It used to get me to work in Lewes faster than a car would. This was before the Lewes by-pass was built and all the traffic that used the A27 from the east had to go via South Street - which meant queues trailing back for miles. The moped just whizzed past them all.
