What kind of "fan" are You>>>?

Do you bleed Blue And White>>>?
Do you consider The Seagulls As part of your soul>>>?
Would There be a void in your inner being if there was no Albion>>>?

(if) Were we to play an unknown team in a shithole in someplace like Estonia, were the facillities were like withdean, or any strange, foreign land would you follow albion to the ends of the earth, just because the Seagulls were there>>>?

Do you get that feeling of immense pride when you hear that deafening roar of Albion behind you as the team walk on to the pitch>>>?

OR

Do you admire from a distance>>>? (armchair fan)
View the Albion as you "second team" or someone you like to see do well, but your allegiance lies elsewhere>>>?

Simply post on NSC because its a lot of fun>>>?

That bit apart from following to Estonia because I prob couldn't afford it.

If I had the money though, I'd love to.

I sort of like the Albion because I played for them as a junior under Clough and Taylor, then under only Taylor. Then as a pro for Mullery.
I have coached loads who have gone on to wear the stripes.
Now I'm an exile who El Presidente is not keen on.
I expect I'll be banned again soon.

I LOVE The Albion because: Right after being knocked out of the world cup by Germany. If at that point, I didn't have a new season at Withdean to look forward to, I probably would have abandoned watching professional football all together.

I LOVE the fact, that I don't support a team full of over-payed, over-rated, lost touch with the 'real' world, egotistical, spoiled, jumped-up, un-appreciative, power hungry, scrupleless, knob head, playboys.

I LOVE the fact that we have survived as a club, against all the odds, against all the circumstances, against all those who strove to see the club disappear all together.

I LOVE the fact that other fans look down on us as a small club, and we take 2,000 of us, 200 miles away, on a wednesday evening, and out-sing them throughout the game.

I LOVE the fact that in times of all sorts of irresponsible things going on with clubs like portsmouth etc, Dick 'Tight' kept a year-on-year, loss-making club, afloat for 10 years at Withdean and gillingham.

I LOVE the fact Tony Bloom has loads of money.

I LOVE the fact that we are multi-award winning leaders, in the work that is done in the community .

I LOVE the fact that in 10 months time, we will all be rewarded for sticking by our beloved local club, with the most amazing stadium imaginable, that could not be further from the make-do situation at Withdean.

I LOVE Brighton and Hove Albion.... Til I die.

Fact.

I was 10 years old. My mum had run away with the guy next door when I was 8 months and taken me with her. I had then been dumped on my grandparents for the next six years. Then my mum turned up again newly married and dragged me away again. We moved three times over the next three yeras. I was billy no mates with a stepfather I barely talked to. There was a centre missing in my life. Of course I was into football and pretty much followed whoever my short term mates followed (hence the flirtation with Palace when living in Croydon) .

The Albion filled the gap. soon after moving to Brighton my stepfather in what must be the the biggest thing he ever did for me, convinced a mate of his to take me to see england under-21s at the Goldstone...that was the night of Wardys hat-trick against Norway. This mate took me to the next five home games and then seperated from his wife and moved to London..... I kept going.

The Albion was my one constant my one single love throughout my childhood and wherever I have gone and whatever I have done the pride I have in being an Albion supporter has gone with me.

Albion till I die ( and onto heaven....;))

One of the few constant factors in my life for the past 37 years. Whether I am 000s of miles away, getting drenched at Withdean, despairingly watching Damian Hilton at Priestfield, in a massed Albion away crowd at White Hart Lane, or sullen and impatient at an ill-timed wedding, whenever the Albion, are playing at whatever level, I am not thinking about anything else.

Sums it up nicely for me, especially the wedding bit which I suffered two weeks ago

The Albion has been part of my life ever since I remember. I always envision them being part of my life. I have so many memories that are intrinsically linked to the Albion that being an Albion fan is part of who I am.

However, the Albion, as with football in general, is not the be all and end all of my life. I don't arrange my social calendar with more importance on the Albion than my friends or family. I don't judge myself as a fan (nor anyone else as a fan) on how many games they watch etc. I won't buy the latest shirt just because it's the latest, I have to like it, and so on.

I don't know what "bleeding blue and white" means, but being a fan of this club is a part of who I am, but I think I keep football and the Albion in perspective in my life.

Whenever the Albion play, no matter where I am or how far away I am, I always know when they are playing and where. The game is always on my mind and I wonder how we are doing. Its been like that for 41 years and it will never change.

I get to as many games (home and away) as personal circumstances allow - that varies between 1 and 15 a year (I live 300 miles from Sussex sadly). But in every season since 1968/9 I've made at least one game.
