As an exile it is the best source of Albion info (better than either the official site or the Evening Anus).
It is also comforting to know that I am not the only person in a failed, boring job with no real friends, and needs NSC to make the day pass that little bit faster.
The sheer array of personalities on NSC - it means that, because there are so many people competing for your attention ("me, me!!! Look at my postings!!!!" times a hundred), there is no danger of the dulling effect of cliques, and everything is still pretty fresh and interesting. NSC is full of genuinely interesting people who can say funny and important things about football and the world.
And these introspective, naval-gazing discussions are always kinda fun
1. How anybody is allowed to say anything derogatory about (a) Dick Knight (b) Dan Harding (c) The club in general.
2. Everyone with a post count of over 5000 is assured that whatever bollox they post will be ignored by everyone else that can think for themselves.
3. People on here with a "I'm a much richer fan than you are" attitude because they give to the begging bowl fund.
4. London Irish and his sarcastic pedantic replies whenever someone dares to disagree with what he says. You're funny mate.
5. You're doing things for Wrexham. That's all very noble and I'm sure a lot of other people that use this board do want to hear about it all the time.
6. Ernest and Beach Hut's love ins on every other thread.
The back-slapping fests of these type of threads. You're all great you lot, you do know that, don't you? And I know you'll say the same about me now. Ta in advance.
I agree with London Irish, it's the mix of people on NSC that keeps it interesting.
Most of the people I mix with are very similar (30s/40s, university-educated, left-leaning and what looney would call media or arty types) It's good to get on to NSC and hear the opinions of people with such different backgrounds, such diverging political beliefs and of different ages, knowing, all the time, that we're united by a love of the Albion.
It's also been invaluable in keeping up to date with all Albion (and Brighton) gossip while I've been exiled in London.
