Saw that your greatest moment was 1am Brighton Station (a Sunday in May) 1979.
I went to the game, but was only a kid, and we came back earlier on mainstream trains.

I only heard about the welcome the Albion got, relatively recently. Wish I'd been there.

I was 16 at the time and at a party celebrating when we realised that the team would be pulling into Brighton Station at some point.
I can't remember how we knew this was going to happen (no mobile phones in those days!) but we just thought we'd go to the Station and wait. I don’t think anyone else was there when we arrived but by the time the train got in there seemed like there were thousands.

It was a very special night.

Great thread, amazed this hasn't been done before.

I'm a journalist, mainly writing about IT (at the moment about cloud computing and virtualisation)

I'm also a part-time theatre critic hanging out with the luvvies
