Neither here nor there
It's one of those games that makes you suspect that the marketing plan for the Premier League is really to make sure the big clubs have lots of winnable matches against small-fry opposition.

I don't know, maybe the lack of expectation takes some pressure off the players and a strange result is possible. But it's not a game I'll be glued to.

4 nothing.

They’ll have total control of the ball, terrority, allied with pace and creativity. The usual rearguard Albion approach is likely to invite ManC to do as they please.

“There are no easy games in the PL. Any team can beat any team.” Is baloney.

But we could so easily have had a point at Liverpool....

I hope I’m wrong of course, but ManC (like Chelsea) seem to simply have our measure. They can beat us with ease whether we open up or they play the patient game if CH goes for the 10 man Alamo defence.

Plus very negative tactics have reappeared in our last two PL matches.

But last season city beat us 2-0 2-0 and Liverpool 5-1 4-0 .

City’s 2 x 2-0 were walkovers, we offered nowt.

For today, it’s not just me, look at most NSC posts predicting a heavy score against.

Agree about versus Liverpool. I was at Anfield and in that second half we matched them. Together with the ManU win, I thought the Albion had matured into a positive team not afraid of taking it to opponents. Then the Stains and Spurs approach brought my over-confidence down.

Interesting to see what CH tries today.

First game of the season as they were bedding in.

Title celebration and Yaya tribute night.

In neither game were they really at it like they should be today. The only thing possibly slightly in our favour is their surprise Champions League defeat last week, which puts more significance on their upcoming game, so they may rest a few for that. Their reserves aren't too shabby however.

3-0 is par as it was at Liverpool.

I’m on 1-0 Duffy at 2500/1

Have there been longer odds for a win in the PL, to your extensive knowledge?
