Here and There
Always enjoyed this theme, right after 'Get Stuffed' on Late Night Late...

Radio 2’s Sportsnights theme, with Peter Jones!
Into the Blue, “it’s 5 o’clock, and time for Sports Report” has to be the most iconic for me.

It really is awesome. Did not know it was called Drag Racer. Useful extra info!

Anyone remember this from 1978?:

As usual you have to choose between having the opening titles with very poor audio or good quality audio with no accompanying titles. Gone with the former here for nostalgia points.

Also, I left this out from my options, but it's worthy of a mention. Listen to the full version and it becomes 100% clear it's Jeff Wayne doing Jeff Wayne things. Could almost be an unused track from War of the Worlds:

I preferred the big match 80-86 than earlier versions.....

Still to me the most iconic piece of sports broadcast music, is the one I used to listen after every game without fail, from the boy walking with the old man from the SW terrace back to the parked car somewhere near Corals greyhound stadium, through my yoof, on away trips when when heading straight back to the car.

The sound of 5 O'Clock and the amazing James Alexander Gordon RIP..... Only clip I could find was from 1998.

pre internet, pre smartphone this was often the first we found out of others results, I can still feel the excitement of waiting to here results that mattered to Albion when that theme tune came on. I'm getting old!

Between skiing and cricket for me, but I can't believe no one has mentioned this from my childhood
