No mention of yesterday's Arsegas letters page printing ramblings from Tom Carr of Falmer Parish Council along with a HUGE picture taken from Ditchling Beacon with the caption "NATURE'S WONDER: Spring clouds dance across the azure sky, casting shadows along Ditchling Beacon and into the stunning South Downs beyond."

As for the letter:angry:

I know it's old ground and I know we're going to get the "That's how newspapers work" responses but just what the f*** are they playing at? The picture they've published is NOT of the stadium site and to a neutral would be very misleading.

Living in Guildford I buy (used to buy) the Arsegas whenever I'm in Brighton so I can catch up with local news and events. I won't be buying it anymore. Especially since they seem to have retired their "Falmer For All-an Arsegas campaign" footers.

Sorry-they really piss me off sometimes. :censored:

Half of the letters page is devoted to Carr's letter and the picture.

Don't worry too much. Carr's argument is incredibly thin. All he basically has to say is that there's been a Public Inquiry and Prescott will take account of the Inspector's Report.

The reality is that, in March, the ODPM asked for further representations from the interested parties - specifically on the issues raised in Mr Hoile's Report - things like the suitability of the alleged alternative sites, the national interest argument and the appropriateness of development in an area that is likely to lose its AONB status.

Some of the interested parties have taken the opportunity to demolish Hoile's arguments. Falmer Parish Council seem to be saying that they have nothing more to say.

Good, say I. They'll lose the argument.

Bwian, that's a shame, because you'll miss out - the Argus letters page last Thursday week (April 15) carried a lead letter by an architect by the name of Frances Hunt, who worked on the Sheepcote Valley site in the 1980s. The comments she made about the contamination of the site were devastating and on their own completely undermine Hoile's comments on the alternative site to Falmer. That Argus letter deserves to take pride of place in any presentation of Falmer's case. Can anyone reproduce it on here?

Nice sign Roz:lolol:

Feel less pissed off having read that letter-hope Prescott has received hundreds of copies of it.

That is a great letter, was Prescott made aware of those facts? Either as a part of the original Enquiry or the later presentation?

I only ask because sometimes you read of these Miscarriage of Justice cases where a vital bit of evidence was known but for some reason never got presented during the trial.

I believe he was informed as part of the later presentation.
