Oh goody. Another poll.

Are you going to add to the conversation @Mustafa II , or do you have another article to write for Mumsnet?

Asking me to extrapolate from the time I was most happy to the 'best age' is silly.

My health didn't settle till my 30s, but I also had a horrible divorce so . . . .

And the conclusion isn't actionable. I can't decide it was my early 40s and go there.

So I think, on this occasion, my answer is f*** off

OK I'll crumble and respond to one of Mustafa's clickbait threads

If I knew the answer to the question, I wouldn't have been curious enough to ask it.

Plus I'm not as old as most of you lot.

Voted 30s because it's been the best (so far). Old enough to have the money and (debatable) wisdom to enjoy the relative youth and fitness that probably won't be with me forever.

Fair enough. Thanks for the reply

As you get closer to my age (66) the more you will either be glad to be alive, or not.
Mental and physical health and circumstances differ for each of us.
Just try to make the best of now, while you can.

Great, come back from holidays and you are still the interminable rude bore.

Anyway. Loved my 20's, a young lad working in London and a blur of partying. Really liking my 50's now, luckily retired and enjoying things at a much slower pace.

You can't afford anything when you're younger, raising a family and trying to put bread on the table. Older, you can afford to do stuff, but don't want to.
I didn't vote as it all depends on your outlook of life

First vote for teens. Secondary school, seeing your mates every day , football on the field , fighting over girls , and most of all; no stress in the world with work, money, bills etc. loved it

30’s and 40’s for me.
CBA to say why, but anyway, try and make the most of what you are at present, ‘cos you can’t got go back or forwards.
Some good times were also had from 19 to 29. 77 coming up and I can’t say I am particularly enjoying this time in my life.

If I could relive any decade again it'd be my 30s, definitely. Old enough to have established myself career-wise so having a decent amount of expedable income, but not so old that I couldn't still play sport at a decent amateur level.

Teens: For fun, parties, discovering pubs, football and something else❤️
20s: For the excitement of a new job, travel, starting life experiences and the scaryness of it all
30s: For taking things a bit calmer, having a bit more cash and for me being in my prime fitness
40s: Discovering the joy and scaryness of parenthood
50s: Waking up on my 50th birthday with that magical gene that allows one to be able to moan and not give a sh@t, slightly more money to spend and European football
60s: I’ll let you know later this year 👍

Obviously people have different life experiences but I'd be surprised if 20s didn't win comfortably.
That was a pretty accurate guess.

It's an attitude that sits hard with me. For most of my 20s, I was pretty miserable. I was single for pretty much most of it and, after leaving university, I spent the next few years in boring, badly paid jobs or unemployed. My teenage years were even more miserable, by my 20th birthday I was taking a variety of drugs to battle depression and while my months before going to uni were pretty good and college years were OK, it took nearly five years for me.

As people have indicated on this thread, many people in their 20s were having a whale of a time, which made things worse for me. It's not their fault, of course, but I think it does indicate that different people have very different experiences in life.

20’s were great for social life, having fun at work, going out on the pull etc.

I didn’t like my 30’s much. I got left behind a bit because of various bad decisions on my part. I was drinking far, far too much as well. My lost years.

I am enjoying my 40’s. Mainly because of earnings and being more settled, having a direction in life etc. I pulled myself together, got new qualifications and basically pulled my finger out.

Your experience is quite similar to mine. University was great, but apart from that my 20s were miserable. Although in my case not because I was single, but because I was mostly with my ex-wife.

Teenage years were very mediocre due to not enjoying school and the stress of exams, and also the usual teenage stuff. In contrast, by my early 30s it felt as if I’d discovered the cheat codes in life.
