You seem to be forgetting that the gate receipts ( after expenses ) for FA cup games are split between the home team, away team, and the FA. There is no way that the Albion made "millions".

No i included the gates at liverpool and newcastle in my calculations!
Also seem to forget that we were for many years a loss making business which would swallow up more than we made in the finals. In such a situation, it is foolish to think that the 'millions' would have kept us going. For arguement sake, let's say we made £2m. How many players together with their contracts would that have bought us, remembering that we got relegated and would aim to get top quality in to get promotion?

On a technicality,i suppose the so called "millions" were far in excess of what would have been achieved without making 2 Fac Final appearances-so lets just say a hell of a lot of money in relation to the value of money back in that period of time-now what was BHA saying about Bullshit a moment ago...

This is another myth there was no missing money. the players became scoped-in on the Final and the rewards it brought and the league status was thrown away as Foster tried to get sent-off so he could play in the final.
