4 defeats without a goal to our name, only 5 teams in the league with a worse goal difference, just 8 goals scored away from home in 13 games (3 against Cardiff I think) and not much better at home.

We had shots today which helps but we weren't going to score all day, even poyet said that. CMS was scoring for fun last year but now looks devoid of confidence.

We don't have millions to spend in jan (if you believe poyet), so what would you do to get us scoring again?

Billy sharp for £1.85m would be a great start. A striker who does all his work inside the 18yrd box and good for 20 goals a season. Also the 1st league goalscorer at the Amex!!

We need to go to 4-4-2 on a regular basis, not play it for one game and then switch back because we lost. Out and out wide wingers please. Just because our central midfielders are not up to it adding a 3rd do not compensate for that.

Buying some Championship quality strikers would help.

We need to bring in a quality strike partner for CMS & improve the service to them.

Get Reyes and pop him into central midfield. He can play the defence spitting pass we seem to lack most of the time, CMS and him linking up in attack would soon get us some goals.

It would help if Hoskins could get fit.

It's all gone quiet on the Hoskins front hasn't it? I wonder if he will play for us again this season?

CMS - the Fernando Torres of the Championship.

We need a spine, a nucleas. Look at the top sides and look at our team of the 70's / 80's.

Yesterday the midfield offered very little support going forward as did our central defenders offer support to the midfield. We induced pressure because of our lack of self belief/insecurity/negativity.

Look back at our promotion sides. 70's - GK Grummitt/Steele/Moseley; CB - Lawrenson and Rollings (positive going forward and great players (technically) of the ball), CM- Brian Horton (controlled and dominated everything) and CF - Peter Ward (always likely to score and if he didn't, always created something). That's a spine.

Last year - Greer Bridcutt Bennet Murray

This year? Is Greer confident going forward? Has Bridcutt got the confidence in others around him? Is CMS confident of support behind him?

This really is not rocket science

What we do miss is a goal keeper who dominates the area and one that the team have confidence in. From the back, through the midfield to the forwards, the team moves together. We don't at the moment and have not for a long time.

Spine, spine, spine.

Have to agree with this and it shows what great players we had in those days.
Seem to remember many of us expressing hopes that Gus would purchase a class goalkeeper in the summer.Big,big mistake not to have heeded the advice of the great and good on NSC.
