This is a cheery thread for those struggling to buy their first home
£47.5k in 2014 for 2 bed house in Leeds. Next door has just been valued at £70k so probably at least 10-15k up on the deal already

£47.5k for an ugly 4 bed terrace with a flat roof, in Chandlers Ford, Hants, in 1995.

Wasn't at all what we were looking for but it was big and dirt cheap, and got us on the ladder.

We were very, very lucky. Absolutely no way we'd have ever afforded the nice place we have now, if not for what we made on the first place.

£56k for a modest 2 bed in 2000, which was sold for 115k in 2005. Sounds like a great profit but is meaningless when the house that I upgraded to had obviously risen in value by a similar percentage, and hence a greater sum.

I feel genuinely sorry for first time buyers trying to get on the ladder these days.
