I have all but two of those. I used to be a real music snob, and sneer at a lot of the stuff people are mentioning but as i got into my early twenties I realised i was missing out on a lot of good music. I started to search out albums that appeared in "greatest lists" and because of that built up a varied collection of music I enjoy listening to. A few of the albums I bought i didn't like, Pet Sounds for instance is in my opinion really overated, but lots of people do like it, so give it a go and if you haven't heard those records listed, then ditch the preconceptions and give them a try, i bet that Born in the USA for one is a lot more complex a record than you think it is.

I have some of them but in truth the choice of 'Classic Albums' is rather subjective. Whilst I don't own them where are such classics as Led Zep 4, Exile on Main Street, Dark SIde of the Moon and Like a Virgin ? What about Sexual Healing, Talking Book and god know what else ?

I beg to differ but I fail to see any Metalica album being classed as a classic.

Don't you read for god's sake!(see 1st post!)
Also Metallica by Metallica was voted the no.1 most important rock album of the last 25 years by Amerock!
Just because it was a different genre doesn't mean it's not a classic!punk:

I have ticked the ones I own legitimate copies of - Nevermind, The Wall and Rumours. I also have Thriller on tape, but as someone lese said, prefer Off Ther Wall and Bad (both of which I have bought).

I actually think The Wall is far from Pink Floyd's best album, as I prefer Animals and Wish You Were Here.

Wot no Genesis?

DtG, good to see you put The Original Soundtrack in oyur list. How Dare You? als an excellent album. I thought I was the only 10cc fan left!!

Now I probably own less than 70 albums but I have all of these - and Pet Sounds! I think we are "soul mates" denilson. Can I also assume an affection for Parliament and Funkadelic?

I only have The White Album and Nevermind off that list but the rest of them I wouldn't buy for 2 bob at a pikey caravan sale.

Sorry but music's subjective!

Where's Avril Lavigne's 'Let Go'? :lolol:

Only got 'Thriller' out of that lot, but then everyone's got different ideas of what is a classic. Personally I would include 'Listen Without Predudice' (George Michael), Prince's 'Symbol' album, 'The Writing's On The Wall' by Destiniy's Child, and 'Definitely Maybe'.

It's all about opinions.
