How to survive a nuclear war - Cresson H Kearney.

I’m not gonna lie, I found 50 Shades of Grey easier to masturbáte to.

Biography of Trotsky by Robert Service - interestingly Trotsky was a jewish Ukranian, which I was unaware of, always been more focused on his sticky end here in Mexico.

Convoy Escort Commander - the memoirs of Vice Admiral Sir Peter Gretton. In command of a fleet of battle cruisers escorting supply ships across the North Atlantic during WW2, guarding against the neverending incessant threat of German U-boats.

Fascinating and engrossing. I am finding it extra entertaining by reading Sir Peter's excellently written, very British prose in the voice of Lord Flashheart. Ha HAA

I have just finished this, picking it up on the back of your post. An enjoyable read (so thank you), but have to agree with your "disorganised ending" description - the last chapters seemed somewhat rushed and only fleeting reference being made to one or two significant events. I too will continue with the series - I have the library app, so can borrow most books electronically and saves a packet.

I had read some of his non Harry Hole books, all equally enjoyable.

Cheers! Been v busy lately so only just started book 2, 'Cockroaches'.

Awesome book if you can get used to the set up, statues, halls etc.
Just read this then David Mitchell's Utopia Avenue. He's such a good writer.

I found a copy of Clarke's Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell in my bookcase, which I don't remember reading (getting old!) so I might give that a whirl.

I read Mitchell's The thousand autumns of Jacob de Zoet a few years ago, so will put Utopia on the list.

Currently reading The Leviathan by Rosie Andrews.

I read Mitchell's The thousand autumns of Jacob de Zoet a few years ago, so will put Utopia on the list.

As ever with David Mitchell you'll find links to that and his other books in the new one. A guitarist called Jasper de Zoet & a Dr Marinus for example!

Bob Mortimer's Autobiography.

A depressive introvert who lost his father at 13 to a car accident, was bullied at school, failed in his ambition to play for Middlesborough and hated his time at Sussex University so not a barrel of laughs so far - he hasn't met Jim Moir yet so hanging on in there...

I’m reading Shane Warnes autobiography, enjoying it so far.

Only trouble is, in my head, I’m reading it in an Aussie accent.
