What are films that 'everyone's seen' but you haven't?

That stupid Britflick 60's or 70's movie with the odd skinny man with his face painted with a walking stick, black hat etc...Some sort of cult movie which is supposed to be incredible....Saw about 5 minutes of it and promptly declared that cutting my toenails was more exciting...

Now the stupid name of it is bugging me :(
It's been buggering me too - no idea which film you mean. Skinny man, top hat, British, 70s....nope, no idea. There were only about three British films made in the 1970s in total so that should narrow it down.

How's your sister?

Deliverance.

I was in a bar in Brooklyn with some mates a couple of years ago at about two a.m., and everyone was drinking Budweiser (yes I WAS that trolleyed) out of two-pint styrofoam beakers (the "Bud Bucket"). There was a TV in the corner playing Deliverance with the sound off and subtitles on, and some crazy Polish guy who'd latched onto us was telling a story and making us all piss ourselves because he had a funny accent and we couldn't understand a word he said.

I completely lost it when the subtitles came up with "Squeal like a pig! Eeeeeeeeeee! Eeeeeeeeeee!"

Bingo! Thanks man! Stupid movie anyhow...

Sisters fine thanks MoH....

Ah yes, A Clockwork Orange. Was widely rumoured to have been banned for being too violent when I was at school but I think it was actually unavailable because the director, Stanley Kubrick also hated it. It's WELL overrated if you ask me. though it did have the amusing side effect of having football firms dressing up in boiler suits and bowler hats for a short while. Nearly as stupid looking as an 'I can't believe it's not Burberry' baseball cap.
