Mark Lawrenson 79/80 Presenting trophies at St Andrews in Worthing. Remember the crafty fag on the way to KFC for Baked potato lunch (14p) more though.

A fellow St Andrews old boy eh? I remember that day well - it was quite a coup for a crappy old school like ours to get such a big name to come along.

I remember when Howard Wilkinson had a Q & A session at the Salvation Army on Sackville Road, that would have been the late 60's though.

Brian Horton and possibly Peter O Sullivan came to Rudyard Kipling, Woodingdean circa May 1979, just after promotion. Division 1 footballers at my school? I could hardly breathe I was so excited!

Brian 'Nobby' Horton was quite a regular visitor to midweek school fixtures and schools back in the day.

John Crumplin presented something at one of my school assemblies in 1990. I remember that he turned up in a Ford Orion.

There was an autograph session at the end. He point blank refused to sign my book "Football Genius" though.

"I ain't writing that mate..."

spoilsport.

Carden Middle School had (I think) Gary Stevens and Gerry Ryan.

They also did some interviews around the cup final where Steve Foster revealed his favourite drink to be....Fosters.

And I think steve foster after drinking fosters got into trouble once for pissing all over the carpet in the bar at hove greyhounds stadium ( hopefully some one else could confirm this I think it was true or a bullshit story )

Malcolm poskett and someone else whose name escapes me, circa 1978. I kept leaving my class with various excuses to get a glimpse of them.

If it was Ken Tiler we went to the same school. We had Poskett and Tiler.
