Have we possibly got the best team in English footie? Not our heroes in stripes on the pitch, no, I mean the team running the show....

Bloom, brilliant business man, passionate about footie and his boyhood team, loaded, supportive and non-interfering.

Poyet, brilliant tactician and coach, masterminding a great style of footie, turning OK players into succesful ones, ambitious, talented, loyal.

Barber, plaudits piling in from all over the place, possible the strongest CV of any CEO in english soccer.

Perry, genius strategist and project manager, delivering the best new stadium in the world, and the academy.

Doctor, genius at stopping our poor run of injuries and getting Vicente fit.

The new scout fella (forget his name), everyone speaks highly of him too.

What a team, I rest my case!

Fair point, however I must mention that 95% of our success comes from our players getting points on the field, not our back room team albeit their genius.

Maybe although the football a lot of the time was rather boring nd negative, but hopefully that was just about giving the players a crack at the championship,if we have players like dicker and painter etc starting next season i'll be very worried indeed.

Sorry, but have to disagree with the "great style of footie" bit. It really did get a bit boring at imes last season - too often for my liking - and Poyet is going to have to find a way for us to score more goals.

Goals make exciting football. We didn't score anywhere near enough.

Reminder, this is not a thread about the players.

Poyet turned weak players into good ones (eg el abd) and created a class of footie for league one that us long termers can never have expected to see our team play, but we did. Yes, better teams in the champ can easily counter that style of play, but Gus was loyal to his old crew and gace them a crack, and yes he knows we have to up the budget and the quality next season, all in a positive but controlled way. Fair play to him.

Now then, the thread was meant to be about all the other guys off the pitch, and what a strong team that looks for the long term....

What we're seeing is a slow changing of the guard, slowly Bloom is replacing the old staff with staff with more knowhow and next Poyet will bring in better players. Slowly the whole setup is moving forward to the really big step, promotion to the P/L.

Good thread. Far too sensible for the close season denizens of NSC but absolutely spot on.

The quality of everything involved in Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club has increased at an incredible rate over the past couple of years. Foundations are being laid down that are rock solid.

Obviously many of the clubs we want to compete with are similarly well resourced (N.B. Palace - that doesn't include you...) but make no mistake about where we are heading.

After reading the title thought i was going to reading some joker posting about England :lolol:

Yep good post... a lot of behind the scene changes that are giving the club all round depth and quality and building to be a good championship team / prem league... Blackpool seems to be a club we are almost resembling...

No, no you don't. Not even on the South Coast.

Cortese - ex Banker to the Billionaires, full of ambition and a top strategist.

Reed - Wealth of Experience, and overseeing the talent identification process.

Adkins - His record says it all. Best record behind Mancini and Fergie for either the last season or past two seasons taking us from the relegation zone to premier league in less than 2 seasons.

Crosby - Adkins right hand man, regarded as one of the best assistants in the country.

Wilkins - You lot know all about him, there is a reason he was kept on when Pardew and co left.

Hunter - Ex England youth coach with a wealth of experience coaching youngsters.

Crocker - Head of the most successful English Academy in the past 10 years.

Ruddick - one of the best youth scouts in the country.

Plus a number of others.
