Just can't believe Pardew is such a hot fav.

Madjeski can and probably will insist he stays, and the set-up at reading looks so good, I don't know why he would want to leave.

I think Cotterill would be an excellent appointment for them.

Yeah, you must be a :dunce:

Can't see where he will get his next job from. Lower clubs will see him as needing to spend money, as he did at Boro.

Wealthy clubs will see him as a manager who wastes a lot of money, as he did at Boro.

I think he would have to start very low down and prove his ability, and I doubt his pride will let him do that.

One of my west ham supporting mates, reckons they should keep brooking on as manager and bring in Stuart Pearce to be taught in the ways of management before trevor moves upstairs. I reckon that could be a good way forward for trevor

I read yesterday that Pardews contract allows him to talk to Premiership clubs but as West ham are in the 1st they can refuse the approach.

Pardew would therefore have to resign to take the job, which I have doubts that he would do.

I agree about Reading, as much as it pains me, they have come a long long way and have a great set up. West Ham are very much a club in a transitional period and their squad is gonna take some rebuilding, especially if they do get promoted.

If Pardew does go, do you reckon he will go back and nick Sidwell? Then Reading will get a taste of their own dirty medicine..... :D

Pardew appears the majority verdict on the West Ham board, and unless Reading cause too much grief he will end up there. But they may decide its just too much hassle - and I did hear at the weekend from a very reliable source that Trevor Brooking's personal choice would be...one S Coppell.

No, and that is in fact a very good example of why he shouldn't take the job.

At Reading he is in a possition to go out and buy talented youngsters like Sidwell, but at WHUFC he will find he has no money to spend and probably has to sell promising youngsters like Defoe and Carrick in the January transfer window.

Seems incredible, but Reading have the set-up to go further, and possibly this season.

He'd be mad to quit.

At the end of the day, Pardew has exactly the same employment rights as you or I. He can resign if he wants and there's not a thing Madjeski can do about it except sulk.

The only thing different to you or I is he might have a very long notice period built in to his contract, like Steve Bruce did (snigger) at Palace. Even then he can still refuse to come in to work. Reading can either then sack him....which is exactly what he wants...or refuse to give him a reference. That would badly affect the average man in the street, not Pardew as football clubs are hardly known for worrying about references are they?

Pardew has always had his doubts about readings potential and has urged on many times for fans to turn up in which they don't.

Westham getting 30k and reading 16k is a huge diffrence in my book,so after taking a huge pay cut at reading i have no doubt he is off to westham and who can blame him.

It will be a fair while before reading get consistant big crowds as 1 minute they may get 22k and the next 11k mmmm.

Mind you if they go up they should sell out every game as should any club in the premiership.

Everyone one here sticking up for us

As you know, we all think the same. Can't understand why Pards would go to a club like West Ham when he can be here. I could understand if it had happened last year, but to think about it this year is just insulting to our club and its ways to keep costs down. Pards doesn't get paid much (like most of the players and staff) and hence when a club comes along with money they haven't got (!) and offer it to Pards, he'll go.

Hopefully if he leaves then we'll get Cotterill. God forbid what it'd be like if Coppell went to us. I don't really think it will happen in the slightest. It jeopardises my next NSC meetup!
