Thats also part of the problem regarding the development of English players have a listen to Gareth Southgate's U21 interview on Seagulls Player. Its not about glass half full everyone knows playing time for u21 is like gold dust at a top level just when they need to be tested. Barcelona have the right idea about blooding youngsters saying whats the point of building Ferrari's if you're not going to use it; this was also a sideways dig at Madrid's spending policy. The premier league is so short sighted as to be blind.

I'm kind of astonished the Germans league agreed at club level to work in the interests of the International team and its development. Do they have more domestic based ownership in their league?

And on NSC political threads, we're very good at rowing.

And we are getting better at sculling as well. Much is down to coaching as you can have all the kit but without the expert advice your pretty much screwed.
Ardingly Rowing club which is very much a pauper compared to most other clubs has just had it's junior squad coaches awards coaches of the year by British rowing. Second hand boats, no boat house, boats kept on scaffold racking, with kit begged and borrowed, yet representation at the national championship and the inter regional championships. Invest in the coaching and you'll move forward ....
