It seems like a "shock" appoitment is out of the question now. The big two high profile names have turned us down (Coppell and Wise). I left out Curbs because 1. he hasn't turned us down 2. He would never dream of taken the job, so why would he bother(however, if he did I will dance naked with joy from the Vally to Upton park). It strikes me that Coppell and Wise have given the job some thought, My reasons are this, they both took themselves out of the running on the same day as Bloom came out saying:
"We have had a high number of quality applicants, and have now refined the shortlist and will continue with the process of evaluating and interviewing the leading contenders."
this strikes me, as if Bloom made them both an offer, which they both refused. I don't think that would be down to our league postion, as there are plenty of games to turn the season around. I think its more likely the playing budget. I think that we have over estimated the amount of cash that Bloom has (or is willing) to spend on the Albion at the moment. The club makes as loss due to the Withdean and by all accounts Bloom is a shrewd man, he's not going to cover the cost of Falmer, fill the black whole left by playing at Withdean and spend alot more money on players in Jan, whilst paying off two manager (Adams and Slade) does that sound a plan for a sustainable club?
I would be looking for a manager who wants to build for the future, a man with a long term plan. an "up and coming" would be our best bet. or we risk getting a "name" for the sake of it!
