today's impeccable performance shows Tommy's strength of character but where does this leave him?

Scouts would have been impressed with his performance, Gus should have been equally impressed, he showed he's capable of playing at this standard .......but he wants to play regularly.

It's a squad game these days and none of those coming back in had done anything to warrant being dropped for today (unless you count Noone having had the temerity to play in an earlier round for Plymouth).

I think Gus will go back to El Abd for Tuesday - I reckon he was just giving him a rest today. Tommy needn't feel left out in the cold, though - he's our cover at centre back (possibly our only cover - is Dunk ready to step up yet?) so he'll get some more games in before this season ends for sure.

I thought that he did ok nothing special but showed with his long ball hoof why Gus has stuck with El Abd. He is a good Div 1 stopper centre half but not a ball playing one that Gus wants. He was not as available for passes from Greer as El Abd and the same could be said of Brezovan as opposed to Ankergren.

Exactly this. His distribution is the only thing to let him down. Other than that a great replacement.
