At the foot of the downs
I forgot to mention Crabbers

1 day you got to take the bus to Val and take the funival lift to the top, then you can board back over the glacier to Tignes, catch it right and your'll end up with an hours ride through powder !!!

ummm loverly !!

Sauze D'oulx hey! Ibiza of the slopes (you thought 2 Alpes was bad)! lol!

Great skiing (don't board), but yes, lots of drags. Easy to get to most areas of the milky way but not to Claviere or Montgenevre as the main run to those resorts is low, and sometimes doesn't have enough snow, depending on when you go.

Cheaper then France.

Did you know that there are 6 men to every 1 female in Sauze D'Oulx. I know loads of useless facts!

I dont that when I stayed in Val in 1996, went over to tignes a couple of times I think. Just hope theres enough snow for the lower slopes as we're staying in La Lavachet or something which is just below Tignes (5min bus ride away). Definatley going to Val for a spot of brunch one day and to relive old memories!

BB, 2 alpes was FULL of nobs. I went with just my girlfriend and it happened to be the British universities championships at the time. Every night in the clubs we felt way out of place.

2 Alpes, first went there when I started 'boarding back in 1995, had the time fo my life! Only needed half a lesson before I was off on my own (skateboarding/Surfing as a youngster helped with balance & coordination so learning was a piece of piss). The night life back then was amazing, here's what I done every day:

8am wake up
8:30am finish breaky
9am hit the slopes
1pm few beers/lunch
5pm final run down to the nearest bar
7pm hotel for 2 hours kip
9pm dinner
10pm pubs/clubs
4am go to bed
8am wake up and do it all again!

Pretty much did the same in Val D I'Sere and hoping to do the same in Tignes this time round, Killington in the US was alright for nightlife but my B&B was miles from anywhere, Saux D'Oux (sp?) in Italy was a blast as I celebrated my 21st birthday on the slopes so the whole week was like 2 Alpes!

Cant wait for this trip, aint been since La Plagne in 2001 and miss the snow more than sex, I'd much rather have a day of untracked powder riding than 15mins in bed with some slapper :)

I skied in Killington last year when the snowboarding championships were there. Great skiing, but ALL The hotels are nowhere near the nightlife - they are all spread out. Got to love those hot tubs after a hard day on the slopes!

oh yeah the B&B I stayed in had a hot tub the size of Vermont! Remember clearly one day getting back really knackered after a good day on the mountain, wandered down to the tub and saw 4 fit as f*** yanky birds - of course the only thing I said was "mind if I join you?" and immediatley the "oh your English!" and "I love the English accent!", needless to say it was fun but 50mins later their boyfriends turned up....bastards

I'm seriously consdiering going, can't quite decide though. I need something to do during my gap year!! All I've found so far is drink, work and gym. I need more!!!

Is it cheapest to get a deal done or to sort each bit out indivdually?

I went to 2 Alpes in February this year with college/for my 18th. Sooooo much fun!!! Very nice runs down from the top of the glacier to the town too.

I've had to sort each bit out as the season in the Alps dont start 'til the 13th (I'm going a week before that), also mine is self-catering which is much cheaper than Half-Board 3star Hotel. Even after buying food all week its only slightly more than Half-board if nort the same!

Yay!! I think I'm going skiing now!! Just heard from my friend at Cambridge Uni that I can go with their Varsity Ski trip from 6th-13th December. Only £295 odd for the week, and 1000+ students going, should be fun!!
