the little bits of Welbeck I've seen he's looked quality so I'd go for him. Carroll has his moments but, don't really think that much of him.

Defoe won't be playing against France as he is at home, sadly his dad passed away,
I'd play Carroll against the French although I think Wellbeck is far more talnted, the only way we are going to get anything against the frogs is by playing ugly!

I'd pick Welbeck every time. Use Carroll as an 'impact' sub, now defoe has gone home. Young has to start too, plays with Welbeck at club level and one of few England players actually capable of creating somerthing.
