Gareth said " for the first time this winter we have the conditions and wind direction for possible snow in the Brighton area. Temperatures will hover around 0c tonight with frequent sleet or snow showers resulting in a fall of up to 1 inch in places.

Temperatures will drop to around 0-1c by 8pm tonight as a keen South East wind blows. Cloud will build from late afternoon with sleet/snow flurries by 7pm. This flurries will become frequent with heavier spells occasionally resulting in a fall of snow of up to 3 cm in places.

The North has the snow when the wind comes from the North. I agree that the wind has to be from the East/South East for it to properly snow here but I'm not sure about it coming tonight.

We only ever get snow with a south east/east wind not a north wind. This is the first time this winter we have had a south east/east.
