We Out-played Watford First Half

Another good performance from the Albion. We totally dominated first half, and were very unfortunate to go in a goal down at half time to what was Watford's first shot on target.

Second half was more even, and certainly a lot more open towards the end of the game.

Everyone went mental when Butters scored.

Blayney's penalty save looked good from a distance, and again everyone went mental.

I should add that I thought it was disgraceful that the Watford fans booed Seb Carole as he was being stretchered off.
No no, he was obviously faking it.

unbelievable that a player is booed when stretched off, but then again Watford, a Johnny come lately tin pot side with no history so no suprise there.

I thought overall we were fairly average today, it wasn't that we outplayed Watford 1st half they were just AWFUL. 2nd half they were on top.

We should have had a penalty first half.

What on earth are you talking about?

You seem to be blissfully unaware that Watford and Albion spent decades together in the old Third Division (South). The Twenties, Thirties, Fourties and Fifties, to be precise.

Watford actually entered the Football League in the same season as Brighton!

How many were there today? I think it was 2248 last season. I couldn't make it today, as I've had a recurrence of the flu from 2 months ago. Sounds as if the atmosphere was just as good as last time.

Another "we should be beating teams like Brighton" quote from the Watford manager.

Well you didn't, so there. :p

It was a game against a team we should have comfortably beaten. If we had been average we could say we were unlucky but we weren't unlucky.

"We didn't play well enough, we were poor today and we got what we deserved.

"Brighton were by far the better team in the first half and we might have dominated the second half but we didn't score and we let one in so we got what we deserve.

"It was just not good enough, not good enough. If we want to stay where we are, that type of average performances is just not acceptable.

"It may be fair to say that injuries played a part in our performance but I wouldn't make an excuse. Everybody gets injuries, everybody gets suspensions.

"That gives an opportunity for others to come in and run around and do well and give themselves a chance of getting on the bus that's actually going somewhere.

"So I won't make excuses. Everybody in this league has to put up with injuries and suspensions. It doesn't matter what team this football club puts out, we should win games like that.

"It wasn't just the youngsters who weren't good enough today. It was senior players as well. We've got to play better than we did today.

"Now we need to mentally reflect on this game because we have to decide whether we're going to push for promotion or be average. It was robbery that we were leading at half-time.

"There's one word to describe this performance: apathetic."

Got to say that the Watford fans were the quietest home fans (excepting Withdean of course) I've heard in a long time.

How would i know?I'm pissed.
14000 crowd, of which 2000 were Albion..................pretty poor show for a team lying 3rd in the division..............also they must give Reading a run for their money in the "silence" stakes.:lolol:

But Reading is such an intimidating place to go to for opposing teams and fans.

It must be true. Royal Sally said so.

I think we can take a point off Reading if our players, management, and fans can resist crumbling and crying like babaies with fear from the intimidating atmosphere.

Reminded me of the Stoke game. Both sides scored the first goal with their first shot, after we had much more of the ball, yet doing nothing with it in their penalty area. We need McCammon with that added strength upfront.
