Not only football, most things are invented in the UK. Unfortunately it is left to the peoples of other countries to make money out of them. Was ever thus!

Football was invented by the Chinese. Apparently.

Interesting read - but it doesn't sugget that the Chinese invented football. Although it says the ancient CHinese played a simlilar game 2,500 years ago, it also says
"Other indigenous peoples from Africa, the Americas, and even Australia, have had their own versions of football that may be as old as the Chinese game...
in fact nobody invented the first games since they are so common in almost every society"

So lots of people around the world kicked something towards the opposition, possibly without many rules, like being able to handle the 'ball'. The earliest rules that could be recognised as football were written in the 1500s, and the 1800s, and both in England.

That's what Blatter said today.
I suppose he might be a f***ing Kraut, fiddling, bung taking,Brit hating liar looking to give the World Cup to China in 2026?
Imagine how much the Chinese government would pay him.

That's nonsense, only 18. According to Clarkson the Americans rate only one. The Hamburger. At my local Chinese Takeaway there are at least one hundred Chinese inventions, most of which are delicious, as I am sure Hiney will concur.

The Chinese may have kicked severed heads at each other 2000 years ago, but the game we play today 'Association Football' was invented in England, therefore in my mind England is the home of football.

The English invented kick and rush. The Scots invented the passing game.

England codified football, which is something we are very good at traditionally.
