Step forward, Adam Hinshelwood.

I thought he was outstanding today. Solid, dependable and not afraid to get forward, with good effect as well. The two centre halves played well (Butters was particularly pleasing) but I think Hinsh was an unsung hero.

Was never convinced after his uncle chose to play him at left-back last season but today he proved me wrong.

I know one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that but if he can continue with those sort of performances then we won't be seeing Watto for quite a while.

Not bad at all, he actually stuck to the right side of defence as well, whenever I've seen him play RB in the reserves he seems to want to drift inside all the time.

I agree though mate, Hinsh was excellent today, as he was last Monday v QPR. Very assured on the ball, and positionally he couldn't be faulted. I think D1 last season was asking a lot of him, but I really hope he gets an extended run in the team this season. So far he's done himself no harm at all, and playing alongside Cullip regularly, he can only get better.

I would stick with Pethick, although it was reassuring to see Butters do alright today. Maybe, just maybe, he'll start to pay back some of the rediculous wages we've been paying him for the last year.
