The OP has a point we are the bridesmaids far to often.
From panicking Villa we went to utter dog turd in the second half tonight. Switching Adingra to the left if Mitoma was tiring and bringing on Minteh seemed the obvious play not three defensive subs and old man Welbeck.

We didn't win either of those games.. We lost to Swindon.. and drew with millwall..
We won the first leg 1-0 with a Chippy free kick. Swindon went ahead in the second leg but we equalised to force penalties.

Winning a penalty shoot out is winning, and certainly not bottling it.

Name them.. Which one's?... When the season is on the line??
OM at home and away last seasons
Man united at home 2 seasons before
Liverpool at home FA Cup 2 seasons ago
Newcastle away FA cup this season
Fulham at home a few weeks ago
Bournemouth at home a few weeks ago.

All of those games were "big games"
Tonight we lost to a team who are co.peting on 3 fronts and have gone 1 point ahead of us.

It's annoying but hardly a "season on the line" situation.

Silly thread.

All clubs can list a set of painful losses and claim to be big game bottlers.

We've had a number of last minute winners over the past 3 seasons in massive matches.

The wheel turns and our fortunes change.
It is silly especially when facts have been twisted.

Fa cup 3rd 4th Round games are not "key" games in my opinion. Fulham and bournemouth weren't as big as Tonight. we can get 5pts clear of villa and basically bury them in the race for europe - As usual, Albion don't turn up.. We just seem to crumble continually in these types of games.. Keep talking about 8 cup finals left.. Well based on our long ongoing history, I don't fancy our chances much...

try again - Swindon won 2-1 in 2nd leg at withdean... 1-0 in 90 mins and then finished 2-1 to swindon AET. We scored in the last secs to lose 2-1

We equalised because the score is over 2 legs.

Your first post is full of errors; wrong date, said we lost to Bristol, didn’t beat Swindon, and now you’re changing playoff rules.

Why was tonight so key?
It would have been nice to win it, but it wouldn't have secured anything.
If we'd wo. Tonight and lost to Fulham we'd be in the same position.

Tonight had nothing to do with Mentality, I
It had everything to do with not being able to start key players.

Webster
Giorginio
Baleba
Minteh

Have been major factors in our recent good form.

how can we "equalise" but lose 2-1????? -

I said we WON vs bristol city, marseille and doncaster in key games.. .

You've missed the point I'm making - we lose far more key / big games than we win.. think its a mental thing in our club... is that eaiser for you to understand?

I understand completely but twisting facts to make your point is silly.

Manchester United home 1-0 - take your pick, the Hughton win to stay up or the RDZ win to all but seal Europe (that was literally last minute)

In that same RDZ season you could have win v Southampton that did seal Europe.

The Marseille win to see us top the group was absolutely huge. Last minute winner again.

Unde Potter, last game of season half time we were 1-0 down to West Ham and then came back to win and seal the highest finish in our clubs entire history on the LAST DAY OF THE SEASON.

The win be Liverpool that set up the semi final run was won in the last minute by Mitoma.

This thread is utter utter nonsense. Oh and by the way why the drama after we lost this game but no mention that we just beat Fulham in game as crucial by scoring a, you guessed it, last minute winner.
