Back in full training today, according to the Official Site. :clap2: :clap2:

Perhapse we can off-load Watson now. I look forward to seeing John Peircy getting his chance at this level, I think he will do well. If he stays of the dodgy food. ???

wherever the money is
I thin Piercy may be what we have been looking for up front and he also has the skills to turn players inside out:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Watson should be given another chance at Right back, until El abd returns, Virgo at back until Cullip returns.

Should definately give Watto a chance..... but really the last one.... he's been a greater servant fo the club but injuries and form have dipped.

I've always liked Piercy but he's not a brick shithouse who's going to win ball in the air. If Piercy can play so can Maheta, Jake and Chris. If we brign him into the first team elsehwere whow e gonna drop. Piercy's got bags of potential going forward but is a crap tackler.

So, more choice!!!:clap2: Same problems:yawn:

I hope Watto is well behind El-Abd, Virgo and Hinsh for the right back slot, the thought of his leaden booted legs getting skinned again, or the hospital passes he plays to midfield is enough to get the goosebumps!

Piercy though, if he can get fit and play constantly well, could be a very attacking player for us, Currie and Piercy in the same team would surely increase our creative options.

Behind Adam "subtle pass" Virgo? Watson's got a lot more to offer in that position than Virgs, but unfortunately he's become one of the two or three scapegoats at the club. We need him back, it would be nice to see people give him a chance after what he's done for us. I have no wish to see Virgo endlessly lumping the ball into touch again.

I think Wattos absence has made people forget about his misgivings at this level. Granted he was excellent with Bobby and we scored countless times from his freekicks, but that was in the Third Div.
He looked terrible last year and I remember an embarassing performance at Peterboro when he was well out of his depth.
Agreed he is more cultured than Virgo and El-Abd, but I would rather have their youthful exuberance and willingness to tackle anyday.

I agree. His lack of pace was an increasing problem last season. Also lack of pace and a right foot severely limited his options when getting forward. How often did we see him on the overlap?, something which Hinsh, Virgo and El Abd can do. If you also consider that he may well have Currie playing in front of him, a lack of pace on the right side would be a problem and would restrict Darren's freedom.
I accept Watto'ss great contribution in the past, but he would be well down my list of choices for right back.

Totally agree Watson wouldn't make the reserve team on last years form!

There is also not a hope in hell that Virgo will be dropped back to defence. Read McGhee's comments on how that affected the team's shape in the second half at Forest, he feels without Virgo up front we don't pressure teams enough up there. He's basically saying McPhee can't do the job as well, and I agree. The idea of playing a small guy like Piercy up there is a joke and ignores all the lessons of the season so far.

Yep agree with this, Watson's had his time with us and personally I thought he was completely inept before he got injured.

I can't see how Watson could get anywhere near the team at the moment unless we were really stuck. You've got to put him behind El-Abd, Hinsh and Reid before he's even getting a sniff at first team action and the nI'd have my doubts. He's to slow and weak in the tackle and during his last run in the team it seemed as if he'd completely forgotten how to cross the ball.
