Watford have swooped for Chelsea goalkeeper Yves Makaba Makalamby on a month's loan.

The highly-rated Belgian will spend next month on loan at Vicarage Road to provide cover for Adrian Boothroyd's side.

The Hornets are without number one Ben Foster for this weekend's clash with Brighton & Hove Albion through suspension and they have been allowed to sign Makalambay on an emergency loan.

Makalambay has yet to break into the Chelsea first team, but he is regular in their reserve side.

Boothroyd has thanked Chelsea for letting them sign Makalambay on loan.

"We're grateful to Chelsea for providing us with goalkeeping cover," said Boothroyd.

"We've got Yves for a month, so we can see how he shapes up in training - and call on him, if we need his services."

Bet Chamberlain's gutted - was on for a rare outing tomorrow. Anyone know anything about Makalambay?

The last 'highly rated Belgian' I remember was Plastic Bertrand! Or was it that bloke with the patios!

Sounds like he'll be on the bench, maybe they've got no one but Chamberlain?

Use to be a Chelsea fan. Lenny Pidgeley is quality (their third choice) he would be first or second at any other club, better than Carson. Maka-ball-bag is shit, hope he plays tomorrow. I may be wrong but from what I know he is pony.
