Watford Fans - Quietest home fans ever

I heard absolutely no noise from the Watford fans (other than some pantomime booing) for the entire time until they scored.

Literally not one song, nothing.

Surely this makes them the quietest fans in the league?

They are going to get a shock when they come to the Amex and we deafen them!

I went with a mate to watch Southampton vs Watford and was in the Watford end. It was REALLY loud.

... just thought I'd add that.

So why so quiet against us then?

Doubt they were in awe of our awesome football, as that didn't quite turn up

Yeah I heard a few songs as I was getting on my bike whilst all the home fans were walking out, just nothing in the stadium.

On twitter had a convo with one of their fans and he reckons that they were quiet even by their standards. Apparently it was because we gave them nothing to make noise about???

Surely they should be supporting their team not ours?

Yeah I guess you are all right.

I just hope and pray that the Amex never ever ever becomes that quiet.

Haha it always makes me laugh seeing threads like this.

Our home support isn't very good, I will grant you that. Thing is, with a whole side of the ground missing, you can barely hear what the other side of the ground is singing.

Brighton supporters yesterday probably thought they were very loud - wrong. The only time anyone on the other side of the ground could really hear you was when you were doing the whole 'you're shit' thing for Loach's goal kicks. I sit near the half way line, and it did make me smile when I heard a faint 'we forgot that you were here' dribble out from the away end. You weren't alone lads, at Vicarage Road there is little point having spectators most of the time, as any sound is sucked out into the abyss where the East stand used to be.

The only fans who have been heard at VR was Palarse and their Euro songs, and West Ham because they had the whole stand allocated to them. Forest might as well have stayed at home, they didn't manage an audible note all game, and they won.

Nothing personal lads, just don't read too much into anything acoustically at VR. 90% of teams think they are being loud, when in fact they sound very quiet from the half way line, let alone the other end of the ground!

GL for the rest of the season anyway, I know you are all in panic mode, but everyone that isn't a BHA fan can see you are doing very well for yourselves. Form is temporary. Even we are winning games sometimes.

As pointed out above, I don't think having a whole stand missing helps with the acoustics... Are you guys rebuilding it then?

New chairman says he plans to eventually.
We had plans back in 2006/7ish I can't remember and the money was 'ringfenced' after we got promoted. Then all the money went...
Before the stand is knocked down and rebuilt we will need to finish the South West Corner (that grey unfinished thing in the corner) to move changing rooms, tunnel and everything currently in the East Stand along with moving the dugouts to the other side.

We don't need the extra capacity (only 11k last night, 15k at weekend) but it would give the ground a better atmosphere and general nicer feel, a better matchday experience and maybe then we will need the capacity.

Considering they have a whole stand missing, it wasn't worse than brum, only thing I heard at brum was them banging on that metal at the back!

Fair enough! All looked a bit derelict with that stand gone! Was the little bit of seated area(I think there was a bit of seating in that stand...) still being used at least?

Its Watford. You'd have nothing to sing about either if you lived there.
