My new watch from my partner

At TAG Churchill Sq, for a battery change, seal and service it's about £350 last time I checked (about 6 months ago). Gets sent off to Manchester I believe. Takes a few weeks (maybe +8 full turnaround). I have one I need to send in.Seems as good a place as any to ask, what's the going rate to change the battery and reseal a Tag Heur or similar nowadays?
Any idea how useful the service is?At TAG Churchill Sq, for a battery change, seal and service it's about £350 last time I checked (about 6 months ago). Gets sent off to Manchester I believe. Takes a few weeks (maybe +8 full turnaround). I have one I need to send in.
I have never tried it. I have an Aquaracer that has never had a service (probably 20+ years!).. and so I feel it may be worth it to send it to TAG themselves just to get the pros on it and have the warranty guaranteed regarding the seal etc.. But, I am sure a competent jeweller can do exactly the same job and save you £200 ish.Any idea how useful the service is?
A quick look at the WE Clark website (the jewellers in Lewes) suggests £125 for a new battery and reseal, unless their FAQs are totally out of date.

Are you still in Darlington ? If so Boro on Linthorpe Rd has a branch of Beaverbrooks, I recently had them replace and pressure seal my fathers Calibre S, cost £90, they send the old seals back and popped it into a nice little Tag travel case also.Any idea how useful the service is?

Yes, I've no doubts at all that TAG are taking the piss. Kind of 'to be expected' walking straight into their shop.WE Clark has a master watchmaker on site so that’s why it’s costing £125. Tag Heur are taking the piss charging £350.
If you are confident taking the bracelet off buy a Bergeon rubber ball off Amazon and DIY. Battery and ball will cost you £10.

Nice. Like that a lot.
Only down side is I’m running short on lamp oil and at times I struggle to see the timeNice. Like that a lot.
Thanks, I am in theory (I'm on the train down to Sussex for a week or so at the moment, and then supposedly heading up to Inverness for work not long after). If you know that part of the world you'll probably appreciate that it's significantly easier for me to try the branch in Newcastle than Middlesbrough because of how crap the East/West trains are.Are you still in Darlington ? Newcastle you’ll have your pick, Goldsmiths, Berry’s and a few other places, there’s a place in Eldon Sq near the food court that can replace and reseal while you wait, I’ll try and get the details just on the off chance. Thanks, I am in theory (I'm on the train down to Sussex for a week or so at the moment, and then supposedly heading up to Inverness for work not long after). I popped into the jewellers in Darlo a few weeks ago and they quoted me about £120-£130. I've only had the battery changed once before a few years ago and my memory is that it was about £80-ish, so either I've misremembered that or it's gone up a lot over the last few years.
