Anyone see Watchdog last night ?
They featured this scam where companies were advertising and selling off plots of land which would increase massively in value IF planning permission was ever granted there for housing development. So you had these absolute MUGS buying up plots of land, mostly within green-belt areas in and around Surrey and Kent, basically on the offchance that the land would eventually be earmarked for development by the government to ease the "growing housing crisis". One woman paid over £30,000 to this company for a few acres, thinking she'd be coining it in 5-10 years time, only to be (predictably) told afterwards by the local authorities that there was not a cats chance in hell of planning permission for housing ever being granted there.
Some people must have shit for brains. They could have visited this board to see what a bastard it is to get permission to build ANYTHING nowadays.
