Was it the corresponding fixture against Leeds last season that led to this defensiveness?

Can't help but feel that the 3-3 against Leeds last year had a really bad impact on Gus.

Before that we'd been a thrilling team to watch last season, and that was one of my favourite games in years. After that, Gus seemed to give up completely on the idea of attacking football to the point we are at now where he is so rampantly paranoid that he feels the need to play not 1 not 2 but 3 holding midfielders to protect the back four.

If only we'd held on for the last few minutes, perhaps Gus might really have believed we could attack and still win games.

Worthing
I reckon he could accommodate Hammond, Croft, Bridcutt AND Dicker in midfield if he really tried.
Come on Gus..... Do it.

Really?

Earlier THIS season I thought we looked quite attack minded.

Tbh - I am a bit puzzled when he includes Hammond and Crofts in the same side. Especially as I thought Dicker had a great start to the season. Or when he does play those two I don't get why we don't have two wingers on the pitch (ignoring injuries).

But then again I work in IT so maybe this football tactic malarkeys a bit beyond me ;)

Just to highlight how non-attacking we have been, a few games ago at home, he brought on Dicker as a sub, and we started looking more of a threat

Posh end of Shoreham
I commented about this on another thread in the week saying after that game gus said we don't do 3-3s and we haven't done since all went very defensive after that fixture
