Was anyone on here in the North Stand circa October 1983 when Melia turned up?

Can you remember who it was against?

Did he wear his Albion tracksuit top?

Did those who lifted him up come with him?

Yes I was there. He was wearing his suit. Can't be sure who we were playing but I think it was man city. Don't quote me on that though.

I was there in the North Stand, it was against Sheff wed (we lost 3-1). No, he did not wear a track suit but he was lifted aloft to much applause.

IMO he should never of managed us and if we had stuck with Bailey we would have had a better chance of staying up; however, we would not have gone to Wembley (perhaps).

I suppose the question would be - Wembley or Premiership? You decide (said in a fake Geordie accent).

Sheff W sounds about right. I went in the South West that day. Gutted I was.

Should have got Dave Sexton in after Alan Mullery...

I watched it all from West Stand; Chris Catlin had been put in charge; can't recall the opposition or anything else;

I was there and shook his hand but it was a pretty stupid publicity stunt really.

I was in the South West as well. I wasn't gutted though. The man was a clown. We looked on in mild amusement when he and his little gang put on their show.

I too was there. South West (was that the west stand standing south of the dug outs?) cos that is were I stood. Seem to recall an Albion shirt, but it was a long time ago. Must be something on youtube, normally is.
