thanks for highlighting this and definitely interested. Can you set the scene? Is it a must win?

Taken from Hastings Observer website -
Hastings United’s footballers will go into the final two games of the season above the relegation zone by the skin of their teeth.

Only goal difference is keeping fourth-bottom United above the three Ryman Football League Division One South relegation places after third-bottom Ramsgate drew 0-0 at home to Guernsey in their game in hand last night (Tuesday).

Fifth-bottom East Grinstead Town are also battling to avoid falling into the drop zone. The Wasps are one point ahead of United with a vastly inferior goal difference.

The three teams immediately above Grinstead - Chipstead, Carshalton Athletic and Walton & Hersham - are not mathematically safe, although it’s highly unlikely they will fall into the bottom three.

United’s two remaining matches are at home to second-placed Faversham Town on Saturday (when the club is offering free admission) and away to Walton & Hersham on Saturday April 25.

Ryman Division One South bottom five (all played 44 matches): 20 East Grinstead Town 45pts (-36 goal difference), 21 HASTINGS UNITED 44 (-14), 22 Ramsgate 44 (-27), 23 Redhill 38 (-31), 24 Horsham 36 (-50).

Ryman Division One South relegation run-in - Hastings United (44pts): April 18 Faversham Town (h), April 25 Walton & Hersham (a).

East Grinstead Town (45pts): April 18 Tooting & Mitcham United (h), April 25 Whitstable Town (a).

Ramsgate (44pts): April 18 Horsham (a), April 25 Corinthian-Casuals (h).

Redhill (38pts): April 18 Chipstead (h), April 25 South Park (a).

Burgess Hill
Watched Burgess Hill yesterday......hard bumpy pitch made things a bit difficult, but after a fairly even first half they finished 1-0 up, a sparkling second saw them end up 5-0 winners over Whitstable with some great goals. Trophy presentation after the game was good, and crowd on the day over 700. Well done Hill - fabulous season.

Yet another great day at the GES. So many enjoyable games and great memories all in one season. We'll need to strengthen a bit in the summer, could do with a bit more height and physical presence all over the pitch, particularly if we lose Will Miles and Lee Harding. But a top, top season!
