Appears it’s been a sad couple of days for WI.

From the Guardian: In sadder news, both teams will be wearing black armbands in memory of Joe Solomon, the former West Indies batter who died yesterday aged 93, and the former spinner and selector Clyde Butts, who was killed in a car crash in Guyana, also yesterday. There will also be a moment’s silence shortly before play begins.

Thanks. I couldn't see anything on the BBC online pages.

Not names I recognise. But it appears that Clyde was around when the West Indies really didn't make much use of spin bowlers. Not sure if he toured England in '88.

Whenever they show pictures of the crowd, and you see a husband and wife with their kids, do you ever think to yourself 'Why are they on holiday in term ?'

I can imagine mother's mobile going on Monday and the cricket mad headmaster saying 'About Gabriel's covid....'
