I’m usually very positive but I’m another on the waste-of-time side of the fence. Never quite been sure what the purpose has been. It’s not as if Bloom, Barber and all those working under them don’t know how to run a football club.

I'm normally fairly positive but it does all seem like a waste of time and those are all pretty anodyne statements. I can only speak for myself but all I want is someone to say they will work at getting maximum bums on seats, work every option to improve transport options, improve the atmosphere and to keep costs down.
That’d be the full-time job of the CEO and transport manager. I don’t think we can expect an unpaid fan attending a few meetings a seasons to sort all that out!

Respect everyone for giving it a go, but seems like a colossal waste of time, which so far seems to have produced a couple of flags. Fan culture should be organically built not through some club run scheme.
I only realised last game that there was a flag, but it only goes half way across the NS, which seemed a bit weird, maybe it's not usually there

Flag 1 - designed on microsoft paint and for a manager who departed a year after
Flag 2 - slight cosmetic improvement, displayed at home games even when said player- Mitoma - isnt in the squad, like last Saturday..

Just a corporate tickbox exercise to state what fabulous engagement the club has with it’s ‘key stakeholders’

Yes it should and there’s dozens of voices and groups that already exist (NSC being one of them) - but Why does it prevent other fans from organising and developing their own voices and groups to promote change ? If that’s what they want.
Barber , according to NSC lore, responds to literally every email he receives at all hours of the day. If groups want to organise and lobby him about TIFOs or Ticketing or the Terrace or Trains then you’d probably expect a hearing.

So absolutely agreed - fans who want to give up their free time to do this, then all credit to them. And if others disapprove and think the FAB is “pointless” then develop your own platform to change the club. And credit to those like you Jack who contribute to podcasts or others who behind scenes lobby the club (successfully) to properly represent its history. (And there are lots of others)

I’m sure the FAB members are just as self aware of the effectiveness or not of the Board as a device as those on this thread (or do you imagine they don’t realise the limits of what they’re potentially getting involved with ?)

Interesting discussion about fan engagement in the pre-appointment hearing with David Kogan, the Government’s preferred candidate for the new IFR

The whole hearing is fascinating but the issue of ‘meaningful’ fan engagement is discussed @ 1hr 35‘ in.

Puts FAB into some kind of context

Annoying you have to vote for a minimum of 3. I’d vote for Sally based on her quoted previous experience, non of the others seem to have any relevance and in some instances appear written by an AI agent

I don’t think there’s an awful lot that needs changing, and certainly not anything that I’d be sufficiently motivated to start a group or lobby PB about. As mentioned above Bloom/Barber and their team know how to run a football club and don’t really need the FAB, and PB has made it abundantly clear he doesn’t really want it either (similarly with the Regulator). Whilst we might not like everything that’s done, there’s usually good reason for it and no amount of wittering amongst themselves by FAB is likely to materially change anything. Fair play to those prepared to put themselves forward, but unless they’re simply happy to bathe in the glory of having some form of ‘official’ club rep post, being in the FAB must be one of the most frustrating and depressing experiences, knowing all the hard work and time comes to not much more than nought.

Shame as it could fill an important role. Am sure PB uses it to tell PL and media how they listen to all parts of club. It should be dominated by mens ST holders who are attending most of games. For the premium thay pay am sure 1901 members are well capable to be communicating with club about there needs. Of course womens team is important but playing in front of 3k at Crawley tickets £10 hardly justifies a place on FAB over a mens ST holder.

If the role has any use or merit, then Sally Freedman seems incredibly well qualified for it.
I’ve just read about her background. If anyone can make something of this, it will be her.

I don't recall seeing any way to apply to be part of it on the website this year, are they now finding these individuals specifically from other FAB members or something? Not that I'd apply, I feel similarly to many here, it's a lot of effort for next to no reward. I believe someone like Sally is an unbelievable candidate and it's for that reason I can see her losing her mind at how hamstrung they are lol
