We cant give that little shit the satisfaction of winning an award:

WORLD CUP SPECIAL (From the Sun)

Hit back at winker Ron
By BEN BACON

FANCY giving that big winker Cristiano Ronaldo a click in the teeth?

Here’s your chance to help Wayne Rooney put one over the sneaky Portugal winger.

Ronaldo is currently leading a FIFA website vote for Best Young Player at the World Cup.

But Rooney, trailing in fifth place, could beat him with your amazing support.

Vote now by logging onto: www.fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/w/bypa/index.html

Thanks to a big media campaign in Portugal, the step-over poseur has got 185,319 votes.

Rooney has pulled in 27,453 - but he could top him if the country shows their Ronaldo disgust now by clicking.

BUT HURRY - VOTING CLOSES AT 11PM TONIGHT

Much as I dislike Ronaldo, you can hardly make out Rooney's had a better tournament.

If we're going to topple the balance why not go for someone deserving of the award like Torres?

Er ignore this and vote for Valencia of Ecuador as he is the closest to Ronaldo votes wise. Like the rest of the world is doing.

OK so Torres isn't an option. I'm going for Luis Valencia then.

I like how Theo Walcott has taken 2990 votes so far

Whoever you vote for, it won't make a blind bit of difference.

The general public are only actually voting to create a shortlist of the top seven players who'll be analysed by FIFA's technical committee.

So it's all in FIFA's hands. This internet poll thingie is just Gillette / FIFA guff. My thinking is that Podolski will win, regardless of the public vote.
