It’s not just this past week but for over a year I have been losing interest with football and I put it down to VAR. I watch Brighton games thanks to the internet but whereas I would watch pretty much any football, not now. Something has gone and I reckon it is the forensic search to rule out a goal. Football is the lowest scoring sport invented and we seem to do our best to find the slightest reason to rule out a goal. The amount of time it still takes to come to a decision is frankly ridiculous. When you look at the cost involved we are being ripped off and someone is making a fortune.

Better than waiting five minutes for VAR to try everything they know to see if they can disallow a perfectly good goal.

The thing I hate about VAR is that those guys have access to unlimited slo-mo from a huge number of angles and yet they still often pass the buck to the ref to go and look at a pitchside telly. What gives?

I make a judgement based on what I see, often I think that's offside, so don't celebrate.
I'm usually correct,and I celebrate when we score what I think is legitimate.
I got it wrong on Wednesday though, and celebrated Minteh's 'goal'
