Just thought Id say, I got sent a virus called:
jdbgmgr.exe
isnt detected by any anti virus things. Search for it and delete it and it should be ok, dosnt kick in for 14 days I heard.
Its been doing the rounds so thought Id warn you. The icon is a tedy bear.

Someone sent me an email warning me about it a while ago so I looked on the Sophos website for it and it says that it is a normal file, not necessary for the computer unless you do something with Java on it.

The only time it could be dodgy is if you get sent an email with it on, but it would still need you to download it.

Sure? So it wont harm my PC at all because it appeared on my C drive. if it keeps sending via my address book, is there anyway to stop it or will those ive sent it to just keep sending it back?

What is it actually for then? And why did people claim it was a virus? Ive deleted mine now..I dont need it do I? How would it onll cause damage if downloaded?

Just curios..not questioning what you said.

It would only damage it then if it was a corrupted file. It's like bigc said, but it's not necessary for using your computer at all. I think it started because of its strange icon.

Incidentally, while we are on the subject -

It's an easy mistake for anyone to download a virus-ed file by mistake. Some renegades (or your enemies) can send you what-looks-like junkmail and set the download on the 'REMOVE' button.
The key is to never click on ANY blue link in an email from anyone you don't know.

NMH never makes that mistake, and neither should you :shootself

Along with the above, don't be stupid enough to click on surreptitious links of ANY kind in emails - "take a look at my naked friend" or "link to free gift" or any such crap.
There's enough stuff accessible on the net without falling for crap that's been deliberately sent your way .......
......and check the 'properties' of suspect emails, because often you can see that the origin is NOT the address that comes up on your emai, browser !
A prime example is the "VERIFY YOUR PASSWORD" link that is being sent disguised as eBay and/or Paypal emails. Those are thieves trying to nick or redirect your money !
