Wilson completes Celtic medical

Mark Wilson leaves hospital after his medical
Mark Wilson should complete his move from Dundee United to Celtic after undergoing a medical on Monday morning.
The 21-year-old, who can play at full-back or in midfield, will sign for a fee thought to be worth in the region of £500,000.

BBC Scotland understands that Wilson himself will pick up about 25% of that figure, with the remainder going to Dundee United.

Wilson has played 137 times for United since signing for the club in 2000.

Oh dear. Come back Virgs!!

Odd that the players get part of the transfer. Kris Boyd gave half of his fee that he received back to Kilmarnock. Why do they take part of the trasnfer fee and not a signing on fee.....Did the same happen with Virgs?

Wilson is a midfielder or a full back according to what I read, so no.

Although I did notice Keane played centre back on Sunday.

Virgo will never make it at Celtic. He's not good enough.
Only good enough against Wolves, West Ham, Leeds, Sunderland, etc, against Falkirk he's out of his depth.

If he's not in Strachan's plans he's been an expensive mistake, £1.5m and a 4 year contract....

He is good enough for Celtic, the league they play in is worse than the Championship.

Yes, but they are probably as good as any of the top 3 and I would doubt that Virgo would be able to get in Reading, Sheffield United or Leeds 1st team.

Virgs had a very solid second half at Clyde the other week. Certainly better than the chinese bloke who was out muscled by guys smaller than him on several occasions.

Good enough to play in that league.

Just not good enough to play for Celtic.

So you think Butler and Kilgallon are better players than Virgs?
That's an interesting point of view.

Has Virgo started a game at centre-back yet? Several people seem to feel Strachan doesn't trust him - Du Wei and Keane have both played there ahead of him. Odd buy though, it seems.

Their 2 usual centre backs are injured and on African Cup duty hence why keano was playing there at the weekend !!

I would to be fair say that Virgs is 5th or even 6th on the pecking list really !!

The pecking order is:
Balde
McManus
Virgo
I would think, after Du Wei's performance v Clyde. Keane was there because he's undroppable and Petrov was back.
