Have been wondering whether to go for Sky or Virgin.
Have fancied Virgin most but understand you can't get Sky Sports News with them. Is that right?

Not true I still get SSN on Virgin, for me its Virgin, internet is much better telly is better as I don't need to record with the on demand services and it's not Rupert Murdock.

I've got Sky TV and Virgin broadband/telephone. Signed up for fairly decent intro packages on both and when the contract is due to expire you just play them off against each other and tell them the other is offering a better deal. I don't pay full price for either and when worked out together is cheaper than either companies combined package deals. The fact is I don't even have a BT line, not that Sky know that!

Have Sky TV and never had any probs. However, I don't like owning the box and the expense of it went wrong. I have not got HD because I don't want to pay an extra monthly fee. It doesn't have much on demand stuff. I felt changing to Virgin would be cheaper and better according to their blurb - but I'm not so sure. Don't like the sound of the box slowness as I channel surf a lot
