You seem like a very decent person, but to be honest I think that Patrick being a decent, well respected person meant he wasn't a very good fit for your club. Sorry.
No need to apologise, I’ll take that one with good grace.

What I would add that, sadly, being decent and well respected is a rare thing amongst EPL owners generally.

Tony Bloom is, annoyingly, a glaring exception to my opinion. Again, annoyingly, he’s both likeable and extremely successful.

He is probably unique in modern football.

Annoyingly.

yes it seems he really is, we are so very lucky to have him. Have you not thought of bleaching those red stripes of the team you support?

Mmm, I'm not so sure. You're always decent here so you probably deserve better than the digs you get - not that you expect otherwise I'm sure, since you're in enemy territory - but you remain decent despite it, and not all fans do. You have little control with how your club is run, and although I joined others in the fight to get rid of Archer etc, it's only luck that we've ended up with Bloom.

Indeed. We do get great football in this country, but I'd prefer the German ownership model.

I know we're not allowed to change allegiance, but all rules have exceptions. You're too good for Palace and deserve better.

This is classic panicking from their board. No long term strategy whatsoever, therefore when Vieira fails to win a few games, they simply don't trust him or the process, and resort to the old failsafe.

Hodgson's teams were solid but dull. Didn't let many in, but only really scored on the counter attack. That's why they got rid of him, because their entire game plan was outdated and uninspiring. Their problem recently is scoring goals- they don't actually let that many in.

So my question is: how is Uncle Roy going to turn that around??

Jesus Christ that's real. I had to double check, it looked like it had to be a windup.

The Palace board are making a bold move here - they're making me feel sorry for Palace fans.

Mods - I think the thread title needs an update
I had to double take as I thought it was @SlowSportsNews on twitter..

A new manager at a football club is a big deal.

The announcement comes with a bit of a fanfare - the deal is marked as being a triumph and a big, bold step towards a brighter future.

How are Palace going to spin this when they announce it?

I hadn't previously considered it but if their social media team/the tea lady's nephew could knock up a snazzy signing video I will have to strap myself down to prevent injury.
