The trouble with signing a right sided centre back, as JP Van Hecke has found out, is that Dunky doesn't get injured very often (and he's not getting dropped for anyone).

Even when he does, Webby is more than capable and Veltman could come across quite easily.

It could be that this guy is in effective to take Van Hecke's place in the squad as he is likely to be off.

Or it could be untrue.

What we could really do with is full backs and someone to play left centre back
Are we getting a bit obsessed with all this right or left centre backs? Dunk tends to play left CB with Webster as he did with Duffy, and plays right CB with Colwill. All about the pairing rather than being specialist left or right.

It’s all about passing options. Having a left sided player comforable passing out with their left foot opens up more options on the pitch, it’s why they’ve been in such demand over recent years.

Of course, hence why United spent a minor fortune on a 5' 9" CB and Pep bought Nathan Ake, but nevertheless Dunk can play either side of a CB pairing, and really if you buy a good footballer you buy a good footballer. Brilliant to have a left footed CB, but we don't need to be obsessed about it, if a good CB comes up, then it's about the pairing.

The other thing about our CBs is a lot of their passes go inside to a central midfield, not always outside on their stronger foot. Colwill has had to master that as he looks like a player who has always gone outside as a CB to full back or winger, but in this team he's had to play far more going back inside.

My friend is a FC Copenhagen fan and pretty much said he's shithouse;

'He's a decent all round defender but he can get a bit eager and that puts him out of position, meaning he then has a tendency to lunge in and then players get past him or he fouls them. He is a backup CB for the Danish national team, I don't think he's PL material'.

Sounds a bit like van Hecke.

Who was the last Victor we had playing for us? I can’t think of any off the top of my head.

Heartwarming to see the humility - waiting for a bus. :love:
Oh yeh, there’s a bus stop sign…! Oh and a nice view out to sea too. It’s amazing the things you so easily miss in photos…

Sounds like a young Dunk, he hasn’t turned out so bad.
