[Albion] Vicente vs Mitoma

Then why aren't Man City, Real Madrid et al offering us 100 million quid?

In 2003/04, a 22 year-old Vicente scored 15 goals and got 9 assists from the left wing, which led to him being named best Spanish player in La Liga and the world's best left winger by FIFA.

11 years have passed since we signed him and some still don't realise what a coup it was. It goes without saying that injuries prevented him from realising his potential but in his early days he was absolutely phenomenal.

Vs Vicente in the early 2000s?

But the question was "How about a prime Vicente vs a prime Mitoma?"
Fair enough, I didn't read your post properly, just the Thread Heading which didn't mention Prime - I can't answer as I never saw prime Vicente play, I might have seen him on TV maybe, never really watched foreign football when it was of no significance to BHAFC

Vicente is the probably most talented player ever to play the Albion, even to this day and considering the likes of Mac Allister and Caicedo.

Would probably be one of the legends of the game if it wasn't for injuries and his other issues.
100% agree with you on this one
Unbelievable player and a player I really enjoyed watching

Which is why he signed for a Championship club, and not one of the highest payers at that. Without the injuries, we wouldn’t have got a look in.

To this day, I still don't know WHY he signed for us?

Why not a 2nd tier Spanish club? Why not a "bigger" Championship club? Was it Gus (the most horrible person he's ever played for, according to him 😂 )?

I may be off the see Valencia soon and it got me harking back to the ever so fleeting appearances vicente had for us at the end of his career. What a touch. A player at the time you would expect something from. A Very very rate trait to have, especially for us. I know we didn’t see a prime Vicente but …..

How about a prime Vicente vs a prime Mitoma ?
Mitoma. Because Mitoma is in his prime and playing in the Premier League.

Vicente was well past his best but playing in the Championship, and was head and shoulders above everybody else in the division.

Prime Vicente was better than prime Mitoma. But prime Vicente didn't play for us.

So I guess it depends on what specific question you are actually asking. Perhaps you could clarify?

Exactly. It’s impossible to compare them.

Wasn't Bruno a large part of it? Or have remembered that wrong?

Having re-read this and the original question, it turns out it is absolutely clear which specific question you were asking. I apologise for my insolence.

The answer is Vicente.

Put Mitoma in that championship team and we would have won the league by 20 points.
King Karou all day long and I feel a little insulted on his behalf by anyone claiming otherwise

Other way round. We signed Bruno partly to try and alleviate Vicente's homesickness (didn't work). Think their wives were friends
