Vicente Rodríguez: the correct pronunciation

You won't find me calling his previous club "Balenthia" or that rubbish team "Bartha" just for the sake of pronunciation. His name, however, needs to be pronounced correctly. It's not hard to get right! A th th th th th th th th th th........Ole!

Actually i think you'll find Barca is pronounced with a hard C as catalan doesn't change their C's to TH's but i might be wrong

I don't think you'll find a single Spaniard pronouncing 'barça' as 'bartha'. It's pronounced 'barsa' everywhere, since it's not 'c' but 'ç'. And even if you type it 'barca' with 'c' it would be pronounced 'barka' in Spanish since ca=ka (to be pronounced 'bartha' should be 'barza'). Ç is used in Catalan and Valencian just like in French (François)

The Vicente's pronunciation I posted is obviously the 'Castilian' one, but depends on the accent you will hear it pronounced not as 'then' but 'sen' (Latin America and even in Spain: Andalucía and Canarias). And in Valencian/Catalan the form is Vicent: in these 'v' is pronounced different to 'b' and 'c' is prounced 's' and with the stress in the second syllabe like in French (cent)

explains why on your two audio clips one goes with a "th" sound in the middle and the other a "ss" sound...
