As I have seen that people in twitter is still arguing about different pronunciations, i'm posting this audio links from radio programs. You can hear also how to pronounce 'puñal' and 'benicalap'.

vicenterodriguez.mp3
vicente.mp3

BTW, the last link is a goal from May 2004 against Sevilla. That goal made Valencia the champion of la Liga that year.

Hi

Thanks for your post, I had assumed it would be pronounced 'vee thane tay'

Are you a Valencia supporter or what is your point of view as would be interested to hear and to be corrected.

Best

The whole 'B' thing is rather odd.
If V is pronounced B then does the Barcelona team contain Bictor Baldes and David Billa, and do they play aginst Balencia and Billareal?

Does "poy-et" sound similar to a swear word in Spanish? I got a few laughs when mentioning the word in Marbella recently?!
